Amber + Greg: Iowa wedding photography

This was a reception-only affair at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center in Ames. The day started out in typical July fashion, sunny and hot. We had planned on doing some fun informal portraits sometime after dinner. Then, during dinner, intrepid sidekick Sarah noted that it looked like it was getting dark. “Nah,” I corrected her, “the windows are tinted but let’s check anyway if it will make you feel better.” We poked our heads outside and were confronted with clouds and wind that could only portend the Apocalypse or the birth of the love child of Brittany and The Donald. “Umm, go grab a light and our couple. Quick.” We got about 5 minutes in before reasonable people run for shelter. I think the couple was laughing here because I had Sarah hold lighting equipment like Ben Franklin begging for lightning to strike.

He wanted mom’s attention and had his own novel way of getting it, the pit-bull way.

I love grandmas. One can’t take enough pictures of them.
